I am forever searching for great art resources. Especially oversize pieces, for the homes and lofts with vast sprawling walls and really high ceilings.
What would this room be without that peppy little flower (md-canvas.com).
Clients often tell me, art is the component in decorating they dread the most. Isn’t that sad? Your newly painted rooms sitting like unfrosted cupcakes ;)
I understand, it’s difficult. My advice would be, focus in on a few areas lacking impact. Above the couch is a good spot to consider. Go large. Find a few contenders, purchase multiple options. See how they look in the room.
Select pieces that relate to your color scheme. Maybe they have a touch of the wall color, or the frame matches other finishes in the room.
If you are frustrated with your lack of local options, look online. I LOVE md-canvas.com, art.com, and greatbigcanvas.com, to name a few. The art I am showing you today comes from these 3 sites. A major bonus- they offer a large variety of sizes, and different surface options (canvas, print, giclee). I love the print option because a mat and frame gives you an instant gallery feel.
All of this artwork is surprisingly affordable. Framing can be expensive though, so search for the local insider spots artists use.
And just let yourself go a little… You don’t need a perfect match to be perfect.
Still feeling lost, you know where to find me. Art selection is one of my favorite tasks.
