If you’re a fan of signature 1920’s design, then you’re in luck. Influences are flowing through current fashion & interior design like a river. But the result is somehow fresh & modern, and that’s what has me hooked.
Flapperesque dresses, makeup, hair, and head pieces grace the 2013 runways.
Authentic T-strap heels appear in Fall shoe lines.
Everyone wants a bungalow…
…with a touch of original Spanish tile :)
Trendy room designs feature 20’s design elements such as metallic finishes, glass, arched doorways, and art deco patterning. But everything is a little softer this time around.
And one authentic find… A REAL 1920’s paint color palette. It was yellowed with age, so I restored it in Photoshop. I think it’s pretty close now!
I have to say, I love the colors even today? What an exciting/tumultuous/revolutionary/glamorous decade. The beginning of Modern America and Interior Design as we know it (amongst many other historic points). Are we being influenced by the May release of The Great Gatsby? Stay tuned…
