Happy Summer readers. Tis’ the busy season, getting busier. When I’m working at high speed, I tend to feel most inspired. Sifting through products, decor, and room photos to bring you solutions, douses me in industry trends, pushing the envelope forward> Fresh ideas– isn’t that what it’s all about?
Well here’s a fresh idea for you- POWDER BLUE WALLS. They’re stealing the scene. In the media, and (effortlessly) in real life. A perfect companion to gray. And you know how we’re always looking for that accent color.
Benjamin Moore called it- color of the year, Breath of Fresh Air 806. I wasn’t exactly sold? I think it was the photography… But since, I’ve changed my mind.
Reasons to love POWDER BLUE paint- 1. It flows with every wood tone imaginable. Even… honey oak (proof below).
2. Sometimes saturated blue paint can feel oppressive, but keeping the shade ultra-light keeps things happy, refreshing and clean. 3. Powder blue works in combo with almost any color, almost as a neutral. I like it with white, gray, taupe, green, citron, violet…
We recently painted my son Cooper’s room Benjamin Moore metropolitan. A light gray blue in this vicinity. Since he is quite a “spirited” little boy, we try to keep his room very soothing :) Love this shade! On my top 10 list.
Here are a few others to consider… Benjamin Moore brittany blue 1633, Sherwin Williams gray screen 7071, and Sherwin Williams evening shadow 7662.
Call me anytime to help. Cheers readers!
